Races of the Great Realms

.. These are the 25 races (23 playable) on WaterdeepMUD, contained in the list below. Each race has its own page which gives you information about the race itself, including a picture for eye candy. Besides a description of the race, you will find both base and max racial stats and the racial features such as immunities, resistances, vulnerabilities and racial effects. Also available is the Max Stat Chart page, which contains all of the racial max stat charts for comparison.

Avian A secretive race of birds with giant like features, standing as tall as a giant with massive wings.
Centaur A proud woodland race of half human - half horse who dwell in remote locations and shun humans.
Berserker * A race of humans who gained the ability of Troll Berserking through years of mixing blood.
Draconian Claimed to be the relatives to dragons, this lizard type race features many reptilian like features.
Drow The well known underground race of elves, adapted to live in the depths of the planet.
Dwarf Dwarves appear as short stocky demi-humans with foul tempers and great stamina.
Elf A race of many talents and close with nature and magic, elves are great mages and thieves.
Esper Said to be born of magic, espers are a humanoid race with the ability to change into a magical creature.
Feli * A race of half human - half feline humanoids, taking the form of a furr covered human with cat like features.
Giant The largest of all humanoid type races, towering from 9 to 12 feet tall with untold strength and stamina.
Gnoll Hyena looking humanoids who roam in loosely organized bands, and stand on two feet.
Gnome The smaller, smarter yet weaker counsins to the dwarven race with many of the same qualities.
Goblin The universally shunned race due to their natural tendancies to be criminals, cutthroats and killers.
Halfling Half the size of humans and holds talents for lockpicking, disarming traps and jewel crafting.
Half Elf The result of a human - elven relationship. Also close with nature and a natural loner, seen as unwanted.
Half Orc The result of a human - orc relationship. Mean and hearty, agile and born atheltics, but not overly smart.
Heucuva An undead spirit similiar in appearance to a human skeleton, very dangerous and difficult to dispel.
Human Most common race found on the planet of Toril. Versatile and skilled in all classes, but no special skills.
Kenku Resembling a humanoid bird with both arms, wings and feet, typically a hawk or crow like apperance.
Minotaur Huge bull like creatures with the body build of a human male, overly strong and dwells underground.
Pixie Extremely magical creatures much like elves who can fly and are tiny in size.
Podrikev Dwarven minings machines which uses the brain and spine of a race to operate its body.
Thri'Kreen A warrior bug like race which resembles a giant mantis and do not sleep.
Titan A race of dark skinned humanoids which range from 5 to 15 feet with intense body mass and strength.
Satyr A race of half human - half goat creatures with magical talents and tend to live near Centaurs.
Max Stats A combo chart of all racial max (per class). [Not Yet Created 3/8/08]

.. Humans are the most common race on the planet of Toril, and in general all races stay with their own kind. Unlike Faerun, the Continent of the Great Realms has a wider diversity of races which live together, and it is said this is due to the fact that the races and the continent itself was created well after the rest of Toril was established. The Elder Creator Gods who created the Great Realms crafted the races after the ones they had known in mortal life, and even went on to create some unique races to the continent such as espers or felis.

.. Podrikevs were not created by the Gods, but are in fact the creation of science and magic. They are living machines which were created for mining purposes by the combined efforts of the Dwarves and Gnomes. They have a metal crafted body which is controlled by the brain and spinal cord of a once living creature. Originally inferior races were used, but over time many found this technology a way to extend their lives, and thus had their own brains and spines removed and placed into the machines, creating a new race of machine creatures.

.. Berserkers are a race of humans who gained the ability of going into a troll berserker rage, which differs from the berserker skill. The berserker skill bases its abilities after troll berserkers in which a person enters an insane rage during combat and is given a surge of strength and energy, and a disregard for personal safety. This type of skill can be gained by many different races, but only touches on true troll berserking. A Berserking Troll can increase its strength and durability over ten times its normal, and during the rage they will not feel any pain at all. Trolls have been known to fight without hesitation even after limbs have been removed. It is said a tribe of humans ventured into gaining this skill by bathing in troll blood, drinking it, even cutting themselves and soaking in their blood. Somehow, their efforts paid off and they gained this ability. It is said through the years of this practise of soaking in the blood, namely when mixing it with their own blood that it became a genetic trait, and soon it became unnessessary for them to soak in the troll blood. There is one flaw to this race, unlike trolls who can control their rage, there are human berserkers who will go out of control.
